FoodTechs Expected to Reach $250 Billion by 2022

Among the sectors that have prospered in recent years, the foodservice market has been of particular interest, especially when thinking globally.

The industry has benefitted from adaptability to the challenges presented by the pandemic. Classed an essential service, the impact/opportunity scale has tended to weigh positively, particularly for those able to innovate quickly. In Brazil alone, the food segment has grown to make up more than 50% of the country's trade balance.

This has led to a strengthened position for FoodTechs, startups that link technology with the agrifood industry. Focused on innovation, these companies enjoy possibilities that others in the same sector are yet to imagine.

From food production to delivery services, demand for these activities is forecasted to continue rising, regardless of the direction of the pandemic. By next year, the FoodTech industry is estimated to reach US$ 250.4 billion globally.
