About the Web3

First came Web1, the World Wide Web, with which we've all become familiar. Then, with social networks, we witnessed the birth of Web2. Now it seems that the evolution of the internet is about to enter its third chapter with Web3.

Although still in its initial phase and thus undefined in some areas, significant developments are expected from this new phase. Its main goal revolves around decentralization - as opposed to how the internet works today, under the control of corporations and governments. It will use artificial intelligence to maintain itself autonomously, and blockchain technology will play a key role in the construction process.

While the issue has garnered more attention in recent months, Web3 has been studied for some years and has already made a sizeable impact on Silicon Valley. The term itself was coined in 2014 by Ethereum cryptocurrency co-founder Gavin Wood and Russian-Canadian Vitalik Buterin.
